Staff who live within the local zone are not eligible for a parking permit unless they meet one of the Parking Permit Eligibility Categories below:

Those traveling from outside the local zone may be allocated a permit on site or if available to a nearby location close to your work base, or any other Park & Ride or Park & Walks as required by the Trust for operational reasons unless they meet one of the Parking Permit Eligibility Categories below.

Blue Badge Holder Permit

If you are in possession of an in-date government Blue Badge issued for your own personal use, you will able to register your badge for your base of work only by completing the online application. After your badge has been registered you will not be required to scan your badge on every visit. There are available disabled bays allocated around the site, or spaces may be available that are practicable. Your application must be accompanied by a copy of your in date "live" Blue Badge with its end date being recorded and audited.

Your Blue Badge will be registered up until the expiry date shown on the badge.

Occupational Health Temporary Permit Referral Required

All medical exemption permit requests require Occupational Health approval following Managers Referral, prior to application.

Weekend Permit

Staff who work weekends. These permits are valid for Saturday & Sunday Only.

Out Of Hours (OOH) Permit

Staff who work night shifts and weekends. These permits are valid between the hours of 19:00 – 07:00 and on Saturday & Sunday.

3 Hour Per Day Permit

Clinical/Operational Staff required to travel off base (not from home) throughout the normal course of your working day using your own car. Holders are permitted to park on site for a cumulative 3 hours per day to enable activities including case handovers, equipment collections and delivery etc.

Departmental Permit

Approval from your department line manager will be required before completing an application for a temporary staff parking permit. Please discuss further with your department manager if you haven't already done so.

Vehicle Information

Only 1 vehicle can be registerd per permit, if you are required to bring any other vehicle on-site other than the one you have registered, please email smchc-stt@solent.nhs.uk to make changes before bringing on-site, to avoid any penalty charges.

Note: Staff must specify if their vehicle/s are over 2m high and / or are a van or “camper van” style of vehicle/s or have a long wheelbase, as these vehicles may not be able to be accommodated in allocated car parks or be awarded a permit to park due to vehicle size.

Please ensure you inform the Sustainability Travel Team immediately should you change your vehicle, prior to accessing the site.

Completion of this application form does not automatically entitle you to a permit as this is an application form only and Solent NHS Trust reserves the right to decline to allocate a permit when the criteria has not been met. The information detailed must be correct and any changes in your circumstances must be advised to the Sustainability Travel Team.
