Terms & Conditions

(T&C's) of the Assignment of & Use of Trust Standard Parking Permits

Permits are issued subject to the Terms and Conditions of Solent NHS Trust and in accordance with its parking permit application forms, processes, and criteria.

  1. The assigned Permit issued under the current eligibility criteria can only be used for as long as you are working / studying at or for Solent NHS Trust ("the Trust") and/or have an arrangement working for the Trust.
  2. The application for a parking Permit must be accompanied by the applicant's house bill (dated in the last 3 months) or UK driving licence or other proof of daily commuting residence. Students or staff who do not have a daily commuting addressed house bill will need to provide other proof of residence, for example University Halls documents or a tenancy agreement.
  3. Once the application has been processed and an outcome given to the applicant, any record of the applicant's house bill, driving licence or other proof of daily commuting address will be deleted from any permit application database.
  4. If the applicant is registered disabled with a current valid Blue Badge, then a copy of this must accompany all permit applications.
  5. If the applicant is applying for a staff parking Permit for medical reasons, the applicant must have first held a discussion with their line manager for a confidential assessment by Occupational Health via a management referral.
  6. In the event of the end of your employment or the end of a student placement, or in the event of non-payment of the charge (if applicable) within 7 days of the due date, then the parking permit will be cancelled and your rights under this agreement shall cease.
  7. If you are a Trust employee and if there is a charge for your permit, the amount will be deducted from your salary via payroll. Non-Trust employees will pay by standing order or invoice.
  8. Should you be assigned a parking Permit, then the Permit will give you the "right to roam" and not a right to a space. Whilst the Trust makes best endeavours to create sufficient spaces for Permit holders, there is no guarantee of a space.
  9. Your current Permit must be displayed at all times in vehicle's windscreen when on site/s. The Trust reserves the right to refuse admittance to any vehicle, which does not display a current or valid Permit which relates to your car registration/s lodged on your application form.
  10. Your permit will be registered to your base of work only and does not apply to any other NHS sites, please ensure to check parking requirements when visiting any other NHS sites.
  11. Your vehicle must be parked in a marked bay and in your designated car park, unless in exceptional circumstances you have been authorised by the Trust Sustainability Travel Team to park elsewhere.
  12. If you are found to have parked in any car park thoroughfare / access or aisle, on double yellow or red lines, over two spaces, in an unallocated car park, in a disabled (Blue Badge) bay without a valid Blue Badge or Permit or are found to be blocking in other vehicles, then you expect to be bound by any enforcement procedures in force and published at that time, which could include financial penalties and / or the withdrawal of Permit/s.
  13. You shall not re-assign or otherwise sell or transfer the Permit, or any access swipe cards/fobs/apps to any other individual or body.
  14. The Trust reserves the right to change a car park Permit assignment or your designated car park for operational reasons and / or as a result of procedural reviews.
  15. The use of all permits and designated car parks will be monitored, audited, and checked on a regular basis by the Sustainability Travel Team or any 3rd party contracted parking management company, for operational reasons, to inform estates strategies, review car park capacities, for any non-compliance, any misuse of permits and / or the designated car parks.
  16. All Permit applications and assignment are subject to car parking space availability at the time of application and will be monitored on an ongoing basis.
  17. All vehicles parked or left on the Trust premises and allocated car parks are parked or left entirely at their owner's risk. Solent NHS Trust accepts no liability (howsoever arising) whether in contract or in part for any loss of, damage to, any vehicles (or their contents) left or parked on these premises. Nothing in this Agreement shall be taken to imply acceptance of any such liability on the part of the Trust.
  18. The Permit charges may freeze, increase and/or change at the Trust's discretion when required. Changes will be given a 6-week notification period.
  19. All Permit applications must be completed by the applicant using current and valid details. All applications may be audited against Trusts departments Healthroster records / Payroll.
  20. You are required to inform the Trust Sustainability Travel Team immediately of any change of daily commuting address and any other changes in job role or other circumstances.
  21. Any attempt to falsify your application maybe deemed as fraud against the Trust and may result in the decline or removal of your Permit, we may address any act of fraud against Solent NHS Trust in line with Trust policy.
Data Protection Act

All the above information on these parking Permit applications forms will be held on computer in accordance Data Protection Act 2018 & is the UKs implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The collected data will only be used for Trust car parking administration, for auditing and management purposes within the Trusts Access Department and any Trust authorised Access or Department users of the Database and other car parking control systems.
